Anna H. Nowak-Węgrzyn, MD, PhD, FAAAAI, FACAAI, is a professor of pediatrics at the New York University (NYU) Grossman School of Medicine and director of the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, Department of Pediatrics, at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone in New York, NY.
Dr Nowak-Węgrzyn’s research interests focus on egg and milk allergies, baked milk and baked egg diets, food-induced anaphylaxis in children, novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to food allergy (eg, oral, sublingual, and patch immunotherapy), oral tolerance development, and food protein–induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES).
She previously served as director of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology from 2017 to 2022. In 2022, she was elected to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & immunology Board of Directors. Dr Nowak-Węgrzyn is chair of the International FPIES Association Medical Advisory Board and led the international effort to write the first consensus guidelines for the diagnosis and management of FPIES, published in 2017.
Dr Nowak-Węgrzyn is associate editor of the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the official journal of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.
