Loren G. Miller, MD, MPH, is a professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, chief of the Division of Adult Infectious Diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and associate site director for the UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the Harbor-UCLA/Lundquist Institute campus.
Dr Miller has completed fellowships in infectious diseases and health services research. His research focuses on the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, skin infections, and bacteremia, with a focus on multidrug-resistant organisms.
He has served on the Infectious Diseases Society of America Clinical Practice Guideline Update for the Treatment of Acute Uncomplicated Cystitis and Pyelonephritis in Women Panel and as chair of the Antibacterial Resistance Leadership Group Gram-Positive Subcommittee. Dr Miller has also been the principal investigator or coinvestigator for many investigations and clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and other government agencies. He has authored more than 185 manuscripts in peer-reviewed publications, including high-impact journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and Annals of Internal Medicine.
