conference reporter by Marina N. Magrey, MD; Philip J. Mease, MD, MACR
Overview

As the Spondyloarthritis community prepares to gather for ACR Convergence 2026, anticipation is building around the latest developments in treatment, diagnostics, clinical research, and patient care. Ahead of this year’s meeting, we asked our Expert panel to share what they are most eager to follow and the developments they believe could have the greatest impact.

“With regard to spondyloarthritis, what I am most excited to follow at ACR Convergence 2026 are the new 2026 ACR/SPARTAN/SAA guidelines for the treatment of axial spondyloarthritis as well as the new definition of MRI indicative of axial spondyloarthritis in the sacroiliac joints, which is supported by data-driven and consensus-based recommendations by SPARTAN and the Society of Skeletal Radiology.”
