Gregory L. Krauss, MD

Gregory L. Krauss, MD, is an epileptologist with extensive experience in clinical, pharmacologic, and electrophysiologic research and in the treatment of patients with epilepsy. He is a professor in the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and he conducts clinical research studies at the JHU Epilepsy Center. 

Dr Krauss is involved in protocol development and new screening methods for antiepilepsy drug therapies, including photosensitivity drug screening, phase 2/3 trial development, and many National Institutes of Health– and US Food and Drug Administration–sponsored trials. These include being global principal investigator for several epilepsy trials and principal investigator for trials of an anticonvulsant treatment for amnestic mild cognitive impairment and assessing generic anticonvulsant bioequivalence. He has extensive experience with electrophysiology and epilepsy monitoring, and he also conducts studies evaluating risks and lifestyle issues with epilepsy, such as driving risks, family planning, and medication safety. Dr Krauss is coinventor of EpiWatch, a tonic-clonic seizure detector.
