Jennifer R. Eads, MD

Jennifer R. Eads, MD, is an associate professor of clinical medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania, Abramson Cancer Center. She serves as the physician lead for GI clinical research and is the director of the Penn Neuroendocrine Tumor Program. In 2022, she was named the ECOG-ACRIN Young Investigator of the Year, and, in 2023, she was appointed as director of the National Clinical Trials Network at the Abramson Cancer Center. 

Dr Eads received her bachelor's degree in genetics from the University of California, Davis and her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. She completed her residency and fellowship programs at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. 

She is board certified in medical oncology and specializes in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies, specifically esophageal and gastric cancers and neuroendocrine tumors. She has authored and coauthored research findings on neuroendocrine tumors and esophagogastric cancer in publications such as Academic Radiology, Annals of Surgical Oncology, Cancer, Clinical Advances in Hematology & Oncology, JACC: CardioOncology, and JAMA Oncology.

Dr Eads has served on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Neuroendocrine Tumors Panel and as the working group chair for neuroendocrine tumors within the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group GI Committee. She is a member of numerous national organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is on the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation Board of Scientific Advisors and was formerly on the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society Board of Directors.
