Ajai Chari, MD, is a professor of clinical medicine and director of the Multiple Myeloma Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr Chari’s research interests include the development of novel chemotherapy regimens, including phase 1 and 2 studies. He is the principal investigator for both investigator-initiated trials and national and international industry-sponsored studies.
In his previous role as director of clinical research in the Multiple Myeloma Program at Mount Sinai New York, he oversaw the growth of a program that is renowned nationally for high-volume patient accruals and rigorous quality assurance. The program played a pivotal role in the US Food and Drug Administration approvals of each of the most recent therapies to be approved for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
