Amanda Mixon, PA-C, is a physician assistant (PA) specializing in rheumatology at the UCHealth Rheumatology Clinic.
A native of Michigan, she received her bachelor of science degree in psychology from Michigan State University and her master of science in PA studies degree from the University of New England.
She has worked in the field of rheumatology for nearly 20 years, including being the first PA in the department of rheumatology at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago. During the last several years, she has been active in leadership in the medical community in Colorado and has contributed significantly to updating laws and regulations related to PA practice in the state. In 2019, she cofounded Rheumatology Advanced Practice Providers, a national organization of PAs and nurse practitioners practicing in the area of rheumatology, and is currently president of this organization. She has also lectured extensively on a national level. She lives with her family in Fort Collins.
