Amin M. Alousi, MD, is a professor of medicine and inpatient medical director of the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he also serves as director of the multidiscipline GVHD Clinic and Research Program.
Dr Alousi's areas of research are in the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) as well as in survivorship needs of recipients of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant. He has served as principal investigator of numerous single-center and multicenter trials investigating novel therapies in the prevention and treatment of GVHD.
He is prior cochair of the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research GVHD Study Section, in addition to serving on the Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network GVHD State of the Science Committee, the National Institute of Health’s 2021 Chronic GVHD Consensus Panel, and the Chronic GVHD Consortium Data and Safety Monitoring Board. He was also involved with the US Food and Drug Administration's Clinical Trials Endpoints for Acute Graft-Versus-Host Disease (GVHD) After Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation workshop.
