Anem Waheed, MD, MPH

Anem Waheed, MD, MPH, is currently a clinical assistant professor of medicine (voluntary) at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, NY, and leader of classical hematology at Astera Cancer Care, a private practice in NJ.

Dr Waheed graduated with her MD from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. After graduation from medical school, she completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Subsequently, she received her MPH in health policy and management from Harvard University. She then completed her hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.

After the completion of her fellowship, Dr Waheed joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where she focused her career on classical hematology with a concentration on complement-mediated disorders such as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria and immune-mediated hematologic disorders.
