Delphine L. Chen, MD, is a professor of radiology and holds the Wil B. Nelp, MD Endowed Professorship in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She is also director of Nuclear Medicine/Molecular Imaging and Therapy Service at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
Dr Chen is a National Institutes of Health–funded physician-scientist. Her research is focused on developing novel positron emission tomography imaging methods for quantifying inflammation in lung and oncologic diseases, assessing host immune responses to therapy, and interrogating cell death and cell survival pathways in cancer for phenotyping and treatment selection.
Additionally, Dr Chen has clinical expertise in molecular imaging for disease phenotyping and radiopharmaceutical therapies. She has broad expertise in all aspects of clinical oncologic and inflammation imaging.
She currently serves on the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) Clinical Trials Network Leadership Committee and is past president of the SNMMI Center for Molecular Imaging Innovation and Translation. Dr Chen also serves on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Nuclear Medicine Residency Review Committee.
