Diane L. Reidy-Lagunes, MD, is the Joseph O. Moore Chief of the Division of Medical Oncology and a professor of medicine at Duke University School of Medicine. She is also associate vice president for oncology services for Duke University Health System. In addition to her responsibilities as division chief, she serves as the physician executive for the cancer service line, responsible for shaping the clinical vision and advancing strategic priorities across all cancer services.
As a researcher, Dr Reidy-Lagunes focuses on developing methods to integrate molecular-based therapies into the treatment of gastrointestinal tumors. She is a member of the National Cancer Institute Neuroendocrine Tumors Task Force and the National Cancer Care Network Guidelines. She has received numerous awards and honors, including the Paul Sherlock Resident House Staff Teaching Award and recognition as one of Castle Connolly's “top doctors” from 2017 to 2025.
Dr Reidy-Lagunes joined Duke in April 2025, bringing nearly 20 years of experience from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she most recently served as vice chair of medicine, overseeing care coordination across its Regional Care Network. She brings nationally recognized expertise, deep clinical insight, and a clear vision for the future of cancer care. Additionally, Dr Reidy-Lagunes was the creator and host of an award-winning monthly podcast called Cancer Straight Talk, which connects patients to cancer experts with the goal of having evidence-based conversations on a variety of topics in cancer care.
