Diego Ruiz Dasilva, MD, FAAD, is an Ivy League–trained, board-certified dermatologist at Forefront Dermatology in Virginia Beach and an adjunct clinical professor of dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk.
Born in Brazil and raised in South Florida, Dr Ruiz Dasilva earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and completed both medical school and his dermatology residency at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr Ruiz Dasilva specializes in chronic pruritus, inflammatory skin diseases, psychodermatology and dysesthesia, skin of color, skin cancer, and aesthetic dermatology. He is actively involved in research and has published in leading journals that include the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, the Dermatology Online Journal, SKIN: The Journal of Cutaneous Medicine, the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, and the Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Dr Ruiz Dasilva is also coauthor of Dermatology Simplified: Outlines and Mnemonics , second edition, a comprehensive textbook on general dermatology.
