Helena A. Yu, MD, a professor of medicine and an attending physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, is a board-certified medical oncologist with clinical and research expertise in thoracic malignancies.
Dr Yu received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her internship and residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania before moving to New York to complete her fellowship in medical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
She is an international leader in lung cancer research, with a focus on clinical trials and translational research of targeted therapies. Dr Yu’s research interests focus on EGFR-mutant lung cancers, spanning investigator-initiated trials; large, global, multicenter trials; and a large body of translational work. Her research is funded by the National Cancer Institute, the American Lung Association, LUNGevity, and the STARR Foundation.
