Jennifer L. Rogers, MD, is an associate professor of medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine, where she also serves as director of both the Duke Lupus Clinic and the Duke Lupus Registry and Biorepository.


Dr Rogers earned her medical degree from Indiana University and completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


She is a board-certified rheumatologist specializing in the care of individuals with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), with particular expertise in SLE-related fatigue, pain, quality of care, and patient-reported outcomes. In collaboration with colleagues at Duke, Dr Rogers codeveloped the Type 1 and Type 2 SLE model, an innovative framework that captures the full spectrum of lupus manifestations and supports a patient-centered approach to improving outcomes and health-related quality of life.


Dr Rogers serves as principal investigator for multiple clinical trials and observational studies focused on SLE. Her research is supported by the US Department of Defense and a range of external sponsors. She is widely recognized for her leadership in lupus clinical research, and she currently serves as vice president of the North Carolina Rheumatology Association.
