Jeremy Pruzin, MD, is a cognitive/behavioral neurologist doing both National Institutes of Health (NIH)–funded and industry-sponsored clinical trial research, as well as evaluating and treating patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD) in the clinic. He is currently an associate professor of neurology at The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Banner Alzheimer’s Institute. His focus is on understanding the influence of lifestyle and vascular risk factors on future dementia risk, with an emphasis on addressing these factors starting in middle age as part of a comprehensive strategy to prevent the development of AD/ADRD.
Dr Pruzin has been a site principal or subinvestigator on more than 30 trials investigating novel therapeutics in AD, including recent trials that led to the approval of the novel anti-amyloid disease-modifying therapies in early AD. He has published more than 25 original articles on AD/ADRD and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of dementia-focused journals.
He is also a member of several professional societies, including the Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment (ISTAART) and the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Dr Pruzin is regularly invited to give lectures on both modifiable risk factors and emerging treatments for AD at professional meetings, including for the Alzheimer’s Association and the AAN.
