Lisa G. Criscione-Schreiber, MD, MEd, is currently a professor of medicine, Division of Rheumatology and Immunology, and vice chair for education in the Department of Medicine at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC.


Dr Criscione-Schreiber completed her undergraduate and medical school training at Duke University, including a year in the research laboratory of Ellen M. Gravallese, MD. She completed her residency in internal medicine, fellowship in rheumatology and immunology, and chief fellowship at the Duke Hospital programs. She joined the Duke rheumatology faculty in 2003, later earning a master of education degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2014.


She cofounded the Duke Lupus Clinic in 2007 and has served as a clinician, educator, and researcher with the Duke Lupus Group since that time. Dr Criscione-Schreiber served as director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Program from 2007 to 2022 and has been vice chair for education in the Duke Department of Medicine since 2020. She is the recipient of the 2022 American College of Rheumatology Distinguished Fellowship Program Director Award.
