Lucia Masarova, MD, is an associate professor in the Division of Cancer Medicine, Department of Leukemia, at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Dr Masarova has a special interest in myeloid malignancies. Her broad clinical knowledge in oncology and malignant hematology has been obtained through training in Europe and the United States. She completed a clinical fellowship in leukemia and a research fellowship in leukemia at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to that, she completed her clinical residency in internal medicine and a clinical fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Her current research is dominated by myeloproliferative neoplasms, and her original clinical research is focused on the unmet needs and various clinical trials within the areas of leukemias and myeloproliferative neoplasms. She has published extensively in journals such as Blood, Cancer, the Journal of Hematology & Oncology, Leukemia, and Annals of Hematology, among others.
