Myda Khalid, MD, is an associate professor of clinical pediatrics at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, Indiana University School of Medicine. She also serves as director of the Clinical Research Program in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, where she leads initiatives in clinical research and clinical trial implementation.
Dr Khalid earned her medical degree from The Aga Khan University Medical College in Pakistan. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth, Dartmouth University, and pursued a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
Her research focuses on glomerular diseases, including IgA nephropathy/vasculitis, minimal change disease, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, membranous nephropathy, and Shiga toxin–producing Escherichia coli–associated hemolytic uremic syndrome (STEC-HUS). She is the principal investigator for several National Institutes of Health–funded research projects and collaborates extensively with the Indiana State Department of Health on STEC-HUS surveillance and research.
Dr Khalid is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and an active member of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, the International Society of Pediatric Nephrology, and the International Society of Glomerular Disease.
