Nikhil Khushalani, MD, is a senior member and vice chair of the Department of Cutaneous Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.
He earned his MD in 1995 from Topiwala National Medical College, University of Bombay, in Maharashtra, India. He then completed an internal medicine residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by a fellowship in medical oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY, in 2002.
Dr Khushalani is an experienced clinical investigator with expertise in immunotherapy and molecular targeted therapy in skin cancer. His clinical research is focused on treatment for refractory melanoma, treatment for uveal melanoma, and designing novel clinical trials in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, working with ideas from laboratory research at Moffitt to translate into the clinic.
He has held committee positions with the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and served as a grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health/the National Cancer Institute and the Department of Defense. Dr Khushalani is also on the Journal of Clinical Oncology Editorial Board.
