Thomas B. Casale, MD, is a professor of medicine and pediatrics and chief of clinical and translational research, Division of Allergy and Immunology, at the University of South Florida Division of Allergy and Immunology in Tampa.
He has served on the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Board of Directors and is a past president. He has also served on the boards of directors for the American Thoracic Society, the World Allergy Organization, and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, where he was also chair. He also served as chief medical advisor for Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) for 4 years.
Dr Casale has worked on bench-to-bedside research, with a special focus on biologics and translational research. He has published more than 560 scientific papers, reviews, and chapters; has organized and directed more than 50 CME programs; and has been on planning committees for 5 World Asthma meetings. In addition, he has served on the editorial boards for multiple journals, including The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice.
