Boni E. Elewski, MD

Boni E. Elewski, MD, is the James Elder Professor and Chair at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Dermatology. She received her MD at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and she completed residencies in internal medicine and dermatology at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital.

Dr Elewski is a world-renowned expert dermatologist and teacher. Her research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of acne, alopecia, atopic dermatitis, cutaneous fungal infections, hidradenitis suppurativa, and psoriasis. She has been the principal investigator for numerous clinical research projects, including industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. 

She is the author of more than 320 publications, and she has an esteemed history of serving in numerous national societies and professional organizations, including as president of the American Academy of Dermatology from 2004 to 2005.
