Robert A. Bermel, MD, MBA

Robert A. Bermel, MD, MBA, is staff neurologist and director of the Mellen Center for Multiple Sclerosis at Cleveland Clinic. He received a medical degree with thesis honors from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where his interest in multiple sclerosis began while training under Dr Lawrence Jacobs, a pioneer in developing treatments for multiple sclerosis. Dr Bermel completed his neurology residency training and neuroimmunology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. 

Dr Bermel cares for patients, conducts imaging research, and participates in clinical trials at the Mellen Center for Multiple Sclerosis. His current research interests include the dual use of standardized self-administered neuroperformance testing and imaging for clinical care and large-scale observational research, in addition to running an optical coherence tomography analysis laboratory for both clinical care and clinical trials.
