David M. Fleischer, MD, is currently the section head of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO) and a professor of pediatrics at CHCO and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is also director of the Allergy and Immunology Center at CHCO.
Dr Fleischer completed his undergraduate training at the University of Pennsylvania, his medical degree training at the Emory University School of Medicine, and both his pediatric residency and his pediatric allergy/immunology fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
He is a nationally and internationally renowned food allergy expert, specializing in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of food allergy. Dr Fleischer’s clinical research has focused on the natural history of and novel treatments for food allergy, including oral, sublingual, and epicutaneous immunotherapies. He is the global principal investigator for several phase 3 peanut epicutaneous immunotherapy trials that are being conducted at more than 30 sites across the world. Dr Fleischer has authored numerous original peer-reviewed articles, review articles, and book chapters on food allergy and food allergy treatment.
