Robert T. Naismith, MD, is professor of neurology at Washington University, where he is also clinic director of the John L. Trotter MS Center and director of Clinical Trials in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology.
Dr Naismith's areas of research interest include the use of imaging and outcome measures in clinical practice and research, clinical trial design, gait analysis, the visual system, and cognition in multiple sclerosis (MS). His areas of clinical interest include treatment algorithms and best practices, along with multidisciplinary MS care.
He is funded by the National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Defense, and he is the author of numerous publications on MS and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. Dr Naismith serves on local and national committees for MS clinical care and research, including the executive boards for the Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis and the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers.
